House Plan Conversions
Keep the Design You Love. Build It Better.
Many homeowners find a house plan they love but discover it wasn't designed for insulated concrete form (ICF) construction. Our team can adapt existing house plans to work with our proprietary ConcreteCore™ Construction system while preserving the original design intent.
Whether you've purchased plans online, worked with an architect, or have existing drawings, we'll modify them for structural integrity, energy efficiency, and long-term performance—so you can build with confidence.
OUR PROCESS
At Resilient Design Build, our process was designed to provide a clear path from conception to completion - with feasability, design & construction organized into structured phases.
-
We will visit your property to perform a site assessment. We coordinate with town entities including building, zoning and planning to determine feasibility and ensure your project is viable before moving forward. Following our assessment, you will receive a compatibility summary, or recommendations should a variance be required by your municipality.
-
In this phase, we will finalize your floor plan. Choose from one of our predesigned ADU plans, convert a current plan, or custom design a new plan. Modification, conversion and custom design fees are determined based on scope of work and due at time of service. Full architectural plans are provided.
-
In this phase, we finalize design and execute the pre-construction and construction budget. A pre-construction deposit is collected to secure your project in our active production queue and initiate project coordination. This deposit is applied toward the overall construction cost and reflected within the final project budget.
-
With your design finalized, we assemble required documentation and manage the permitting process from start to finish, including application preparation, submission, and coordination with local officials.
Additionally, permit costs vary by municipality and are paid directly to the municipality at the time of submission.
-
In this phase we complete your project from site preparation through final finishes. Our team manages the building process with a focus on craftsmanship, efficiency, and clear communication. This phase is divided into four segments, with installment payments due at the start of each segment as reflected in the construction budget:
Sitework
Foundation & Structure
Weather-Tight (roof, windows & exterior doors)
HVAC, Mechanicals & Interior/Exterior Finishes
-
In this milestone phase, final inspections are completed, certificate of occupancy (CO) is obtained (or scheduled) and a final walkthrough is conducted.
